FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about traveling, hosting, and supporting through Seeker City.

1

Why does Seeker City exist; what need does it fulfill?

Group travel, especially international group travel, has long been a disjointed, disorganized experience. Seeker City aims to address the areas that don't make sense to people or prevent them from traveling at all.

2

What exactly does Seeker City do?

Seeker City provides an organized, all-in-one AI-based platform where groups from around the world can utilize modern technology to simply and easily organize an international travel experience.

3

I already travel with a group on my own. Why would I use Seeker City?

Great! Then you know how many details are involved with group travel. Imagine if your mobile device could organize your team members, communicate with them internationally, organize individual and group payments, adjust your itinerary, even share via social media what's happening — all in one place.

4

What's the cost? Who makes the money and how does that work?

The cost per group to claim and utilize the platform as the "Group Leader" (person traveling with the group) is $275 per group to register, interact with your chosen local host, and plan your trip.

5

Who are the hosts? Can I be a host?

Hosts are travel experts that are offering the group travel experience, or listing card, on the Seeker City site. If you'd like to be a host, click on the green "Host" button on the Seeker City home page. You'll set up your account and can submit your location and details.

6

Can anyone be a host? How do I know my trip will happen as advertised?

Not anyone can be a host. Anyone can set up a host account, but it needs to be vetted and approved before the listing card is approved and available. Upon claiming a trip card, you'll be immediately put into contact with the local host. No waiting or wondering who will be your on-the-ground contact. You'll be in touch from Day 1.

7

How long have you been doing this? Is it really this simple?

International group travel is not simple. Nearly all group travel companies and organizations operate with old technology. Tech, especially AI, has come a long way in the past few years. We've overseen around 50,000 group travelers over the past decades at other organizations. Seeker City exists to simplify what has become too expensive and complicated.

8

Okay, so I'm interested. One or two of these experiences look pretty good to me. But maybe not exactly what I'm thinking for my group. What should I do?

Identify the experience that appeals to you, click on the listing card, and then click on the green "Ask a question about this trip" button. Submit your questions or request a phone call, and you'll get a response within 24 hours.

9

I want to travel to a place that nobody advertises and I'd love to see it happen. Can you help me?

Likely, yes. On the home page, submit your information in the "Already have a location in mind?" form. We'll review the request and give you a response within 24 hours.

10

How do payments work? I see a listed price per person. What is that?

The listed price is what your group will pay for the trip per person. It is determined by your host. Your host has the option of handling their own international payments with you outside of the Seeker City platform (costs nothing), or they have an option to run payments through the Seeker City platform. The listed price includes 14% the host pays for credit card processing, international transfers, and administration that Seeker City handles for the host and the Group Leader — if the host selects this option.

11

So I can register my group for a trip, just pay the deposit, and organize my entire trip online with the host and they don't pay the 14% to Seeker City if we don't run the finances through Seeker City?

Correct. You can absolutely do that. The host pays a small monthly subscription fee ($29-$99) for their listings. Handling the finances through Seeker City is not required.

12

Why would the host pay the 14% fee for the trip?

Handling the money and overhead of the group trip is complicated and difficult. You'll be organizing your own individual and team payments, collecting the funds from all your team members, setting up international wires, and tracking it with the host on your own.

13

Why are the trips on Seeker City cheaper than where I see them listed anywhere else?

We removed the "middle man" of the group travel experience. Instead of paying higher fees to tour operators and travel organizations, you're going directly to the host leading the trip. The higher cost reduces greatly when you cut out the middlemen in the process. Seeker City charges a small deposit for the Group, minimal subscription for the host, and only the 14% administration if the host chooses. That's next to nothing compared to international travel organizations, which charge hundreds and even thousands per person of overhead fees.

14

What's your refund policy?

Your Seeker City deposit is refundable for 30 days. If you choose your trip and don't like how it's coming together with the local host, you can cancel and get a refund within 30 days of claiming the trip. Once the trip is in process, your host will determine the payment schedule and refund policy.

15

What's the Support Tracking that I see?

International volunteers have a similar issue as group travelers. It's hard to share what projects they're working on and inefficient to collect funds for their projects or support. We give them an option to list a project or need and run the support through the Seeker City platform while utilizing Seeker City's AI technology.

16

What's the AI part of Seeker City? How is it different than other travel companies?

Seeker City has existed since 2020, but we've been organizing and leading group travel since 2003. Two decades later, the world's connectivity and our capabilities to simplify group travel have completely changed for the better. Seeker City was built on current AI platforms that allow us to make real time, updated changes to the site that give the user a constantly "updated" experience. You'll notice it when you use the site — from WhatsApp'ing your local host to inviting team members into your itinerary and making real-time adjustments. AI allows us to make everything fresh and new, all the time.
